Heritage Day Celebration

In 1995, some new public holidays were introduced in South Africa. Heritage Day is one of them and is a day of heritage and national awareness of the unity of all South Africans.

Our team at the Lesedi-Potlana center celebrated this day with the children and their foster mothers. The children learned a little more about the background and traditions of their tribes. This occasion was celebrated in traditional costumes and with traditional dances of six different tribes.

It was a colourful and beautiful celebration for everyone involved. There was singing and dancing and celebrating the community of diversity.

At the end of the day, the foster mothers received a large food hamper.
