Artisan for building maintenance

The 12 young men and women completed their training as "General Repairers" at the end of January as part of a vocational apprenticeship. They are prepared for the versatile work in installation, repairs and maintenance. Some have already been able to do temporary assignments or have offered services on their own. All of them are supported in their intensive efforts to find employment.

Last November, 30 more apprentices (15 of them financed by our foundation) entered the significantly improved training program. They have the unique opportunity to learn all relevant technologies for building maintenance in theory and practice in newly equipped workshops. Our partner organization NBI has invested in modern machinery for each vocational area. Tshwane North College in Mamelodi has appointed new teaching staff for this course. From April, the apprentices will start their 9-month internship at different building maintenance companies.
