The last four weeks before the big vacations in South Africa we could spend with the children and caregivers in Soshanguve. It was a very intensive time for all. The children had their last exams at school and in the afternoon, there was a lot going on at the Lesedi-Potlana center. All the children were involved in making Christmas decorations of various kinds. Some also learned knitting and crocheting and others were engaged in baking "Christmas cookies". The many projects increased the anticipation of Christmas and the big vacations. The early Christmas party at the center was a special experience for all of us. The children were proud of their artwork and each one was able to take something home after the celebration. There was singing, dancing and good food, a meaningful and at the same time joyful celebration.
